Issued in 1994 as part of the first definitive stamp series of the Palestinian Authority, this stamp commemorates the Coat of Arms of Palestine, featuring the Eagle of Saladin bearing a shield in the colors of the Palestinian flag. The emblem serves as an official symbol of Palestinian national identity and governmental authority. Following the establishment of the Palestinian Authority in 1994, national symbols such as the flag and coat of arms were adopted to represent emerging Palestinian institutions and administrative structures.
