Egyptian Defense Stamp Overprinted for Palestine - 10 millieme
This militaristic issue features an expressive portrait of an Egyptian infantry soldier wearing a combat helmet and carrying a service rifle with a fixed bayonet, explicitly carrying the theme of national defense ("DÉFENSE / الدفاع"). Released originally during the reign of King Farouk I, the stock was subsequently overprinted with the black, bilingual inscription "PALESTINE / فلسطين" for official postal use within the Gaza Strip administration.
