This definitive postage stamp was issued in the early 1960s for use in the Gaza Strip under the United Arab Republic (UAR) administration. Configured as part of a regular definitive series intended for standard weight-tier civil mail, this 35-millieme issue features the inscription "PALESTINE" paired with the UAR designation. Following the thematic direction of the series, the stamp celebrates the region's monumental antiquity and ancient artistic traditions, converting daily postal paper into a celebration of shared historical heritage.

The striking illustration features a detailed rendering of Queen Nefertari, the chief consort of Pharaoh Ramesses II, inspired directly by the vibrant, well-preserved wall paintings found inside her tomb (QV66) in the Valley of the Queens. Dressed in a translucent white linen gown, she wears an elaborate headdress featuring a vulture cap topped by tall, double plumes enclosing a sun disk. Her hands are raised in a traditional gesture of adoration and offering toward the gods, accompanied by vertical columns of finely detailed ancient hieroglyphics and a royal cartouche.
