This historic 10 millieme issue marks the 5th anniversary of Victory Day (عيد النصر), commemorating the dual dates 1956–1961. The design celebrates the withdrawal of British, French, and Israeli forces from Port Said and the Sinai Peninsula following the Suez Crisis, a pivotal geopolitical event under President Gamal Abdel Nasser. The central emblem displays the majestic Eagle of Saladin bearing a chest shield with the vertical stripes and twin stars of the official United Arab Republic flag, flanked by a burning liberty torch on the left and a peaceful olive branch on the right. Circulated with the integrated "PALESTINE / فلسطين" title, the stamp served to project regional sovereign triumph, military defiance, and political solidarity onto the postal network of the Gaza Strip.
